MARICELA GRAY
Executive Director
Maricela was appointed Executive Director of House of Hope in February of 2019. Gray began working for House of Hope in 2005 as an intern in the administration office. She was promoted to Office Administrator and Assistant to the Executive Director. Human Resources was developed under her leadership after Medi-Cal funding provided the means for staffing expansion. Her prior background includes experience as a former client of House of Hope, giving her an insight and fellowship with the women of House of Hope that is an important contributor to her leadership.
DR. RICHARD MERRICK, MD, ABAM, DFASAM
Medical Director
Dr. Merrick provides oversite as our Medical Director. Dr. Merrick was employed by a major Medical Center in Southern California for over 40 years; during his tenure he served as Physician-in-Charge and Chief of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program. Dr. Merrick has recently been named a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine and is a Distinguished Fellow in the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
BARBARA BISHOP, LMFT
Clinical Director of Programs
Barbara Bishop, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#LMFT 38391). Barbara provides individual counseling, facilitates a weekly dream group and is in charge of the Family Therapy group. Prior to joining House of Hope, Barbara worked as a therapist in private practice as well as another drug rehabilitation program. Barbara taught at Marymount College; holding a PhD in English and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.
BECKY SENTER
Director of Outpatient
Becky Senter has 11 years experience providing addiction treatment services for women. Becky is a certified CATCIII and holds a degree in Human Services and a certificate in Alcohol and Drug studies from CSUDH.
KELLY FRIDAY
Director of Residential
Kelly Friday has over 15 years of experience providing addiction treatment services for women. Kelly is a certified CATC-I and holds a certificate in Human Services and Alcohol and Drug studies from LBCC.
LISA MASON
Controller
Lisa Mason is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s financial assets. Lisa attended the University of California Santa Barbara and has over 25 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. Her career experience has been in the private sector but has since joined House of Hope, as it aligns with her passion of supporting women and contributing to making a positive impact in the community.
KRISTIN WITZENBURG
Foundation Representative
Kristin Witzenburg represents House of Hope Foundation to potential donors, grantors, and fundors of House of Hope programs. She has supported House of Hope Foundation’s marketing for 12 years, and is now growing a fundraising outreach and community advancement program. She has a background in marketing and strategic business partnerships with non profit institutions. Her current focus is building marketing systems to advance non profit fundraising – both technical and strategic. Kristin holds a Master of Science in Internet Marketing from Full Sail University, and a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Iowa.
