MARICELA GRAY
Executive Director
Maricela was appointed Executive Director of House of Hope in February of 2019. Gray began working for House of Hope in 2005 as an intern in the administration office. She was promoted to Office Administrator and Assistant to the Executive Director. Human Resources was developed under her leadership after Medi-Cal funding provided the means for staffing expansion. Her prior background includes experience as a former client of House of Hope, giving her an insight and fellowship with the women of House of Hope that is an important contributor to her leadership.
DR. RICHARD MERRICK, MD, ABAM, DFASAM
Medical Director
Dr. Merrick provides oversite as our Medical Director. Dr. Merrick was employed by a major Medical Center in Southern California for over 40 years; during his tenure he served as Physician-in-Charge and Chief of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program. Dr. Merrick has recently been named a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine and is a Distinguished Fellow in the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
BARBARA BISHOP, LMFT
Clinical Director of Programs
Barbara Bishop, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#LMFT 38391). Barbara provides individual counseling, facilitates a weekly dream group and is in charge of the Family Therapy group. Prior to joining House of Hope, Barbara worked as a therapist in private practice as well as another drug rehabilitation program. Barbara taught at Marymount College; holding a PhD in English and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology.
PAUL EDMEIER
Chief Financial Officer
Paul been working with House of Hope since June of 2018, managing the finances and accounting for House of Hope. He also liaisons with the County and manages Medi-Cal funding initiatives. Paul has an MBA from National University.
BECKY SENTER
Director of Outpatient
Becky Senter has 11 years experience providing addiction treatment services for women. Becky is a certified CATCIII and holds a degree in Human Services and a certificate in Alcohol and Drug studies from CSUDH.
CLAUDIA MURILLO
Compliance Administrator
Claudia serves as the Compliance Administrator for House of Hope. Claudia Murillo has been in the alcohol and drug counseling profession since 2008. She is certified as a CADC-II (#A011540315) with CCAPP, and has worked as a Program Coordinator of Drug Court, Domestic Violence and Intensive Outpatient Programs.
